Frequently asked questions

What does 'burn after reading' actually mean technically?
The moment the link is opened and your message decrypts in the browser, our system deletes the encrypted data. Every subsequent request to the same URL returns a 404.
Is my note really private if I send the link over regular email?
Yes. Email only carries the URL. The actual content is encrypted in our system and only decryptable with the key in the URL fragment — which email servers never log.
Can I write a note anonymously?
Completely. No account, no login, no email required. The note exists only as encrypted bytes tied to a random ID.
What if I want the note to last longer than 24 hours?
Select 7-day TTL on the creation form. The note won't self-destruct until either someone reads it or 7 days pass, whichever comes first.
