Frequently asked questions

Is fax more secure than this tool for patient records?
No. Fax lines are unencrypted and sent to shared fax machines accessible to multiple staff. Client-side encryption provides stronger guarantees.
Can I send DICOM imaging files this way?
Yes. Attach any file format including DICOM. Large imaging files above 10MB require the Solo or Pro plan.
What if I send to the wrong provider by mistake?
On Pro plan, you can recall a secret before it's opened. If already opened, the data has transferred — use standard incident response procedures.
Does the receiving provider need a CipherEdge account?
No. The link works for anyone in a standard browser. No app installation or account creation required.
